Scandal In China Rat Meat Passed Off As Lamb

Scandal in China: Rat meat passed off as Lamb

The latest food scandal in China has raised more questions about food safety  in the country. This latest case is truly stomach-churning. Hundreds of people were arrested after passing off rat meat as lamb.

But the food industry here is often filthy and even downright criminal. Farmers drown vegetables in pesticides; businesses pump cattle full of steroids; endangered wildlife ends up on your plate and corrupt officials – after taking their cut – often certify these questionable foods as safe.
